Returning customers are the coveted bedrock of cafes, pubs, bars and eateries the world over, because that’s what hospitality is all about – creating a delivering a wonderful experience which customers just can’t get enough of. Plus, of course, there’s the obvious business benefit of repeat customers: solid, reliable income; no cost of acquisition and an army of brand advocates. Yes, regular customers are cherished above all others, period.
Next to existing customers, there is another group which also gives restaurateurs a warm glow: new customers. For many, there is nothing better than receiving an online booking from someone new. The reason is simple: new customers are a recognition of all that hard work and they prove that the restaurant’s strategy is the right one. Something is working, and that is a fact to be delighted with, especially in the current climate.
